William R. “Cork” Umphrey, 85, of Salina, passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015. He was born Oct. 2, 1929, in Kansas City, Mo., to Walter and Rose Umphrey. Cork was a contractor and real estate broker.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ella; children, Ray (Linda) Umphrey and Elizabeth (Steve) Jankord; son-in-law, Steve Renich; grandchildren, Will, Katherine and Emily Umphrey, Brett (Ariel) Jankord, Drew (Casey) Jankord and Chelsey Jankord.
Cork was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Cheryl.
Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Belmont Boulevard Christian Church, 2508 Belmont Blvd., Salina, with visitation in the fellowship hall to follow.
In lieu of flowers or memorials, a gesture of kindness is suggested.
