cra30302Rosemary (Whitehair) Crawford, 90, of Salina, died Saturday, March 2, 2013. She was born October 4, 1922, in Abilene, to John L. and Agnes (Morgan) Whitehair. On June 2, 1949, she married Joseph H. Crawford in Abilene. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Marymount College and a Master’s Degree from Kansas State University. Rosemary was a teacher and Head of the Secretarial Science Department at Brown Mackie College in Salina for 30 years.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; brothers, Ray, John, Bill and Leo; sisters, Ethel, Dorothy, Margaret and Sr. Mary Mark.

She is survived by her children, Bill (Kay) Crawford, of Carmel, IN, Mary Pat Wood, of Salina, Mark Crawford, of Salina and Ann (Gary) Dowdy, of Woodward, OK; seven grandchildren, Sarah and Joe Crawford, Katie, Kelly and Andrew Wood and Trinity and Tone Crawford; and one great-grandchild, Penny Lane Baker.

Visitation will be from 12 to 8 pm on Thursday, March 7, 2013, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 pm, and a Vigil service at 7 pm – all at Ryan Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Friday, March 8, 2013, at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, Salina. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Salina. Memorial contributions may be made to either St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church or the Sisters of St. Joseph of Concordia, and left in care of the mortuary.

Elvin E. Shufelberger, 72, of Salina, died Sunday, March 3, 2013, in Inman. Elvin was born May 29, 1940, in Greensburg. Elvin was a retired machinist from Boeing Aircraft.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Shufelberger, and a son, Carl Willis.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Shufelberger; mother, Lila Shufelberger, of Wichita; two sisters, Dorothy Ohmart and husband Bill, of Wichita, and Valeda Hansen, of Wichita; daughter, Leann Hargget, of Charlotte, N.C.; sons, Joe Willis and wife Sherryl, of Inman, Larry Willis and wife Cindy, of Salina, and James Willis and wife Cheryl, of Inman; daughter-in-law, Pam Willis, of Salina; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina.

Private inurnment will be at a later date in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

The family suggests memorials to the Harden Hospice of McPherson County.
