Obituary 22 July, 2015

hin50720Carol Joan Hindman, 68, of Salina, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015. She was born Aug. 4, 1946, in Hays, to Otto and Caroline (Schafer) Huber.

After graduating from Ellis High School she moved to Salina where she was a lifelong resident. Carol was in the legal profession for over 50 years, later becoming a professional legal secretary. She worked in the county attorney’s office and was a bailiff for District Judge Dan D. Boyer. Carol loved to travel the country with her husband in their RV and spend time with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Ervin (Erv) Hindman and wife Lucille; one niece; and one nephew.

Carol is survived by her loving husband, Gary Hindman; son, Michael and wife RaShelle Hindman and grandchildren, Brady and Chase, all of Longmont, Colo.; brother-in-law, Gene and wife Virginia Hindman, of Salina; stepbrother, Jamie and wife LeeAnn Hunter, of Ft. Collins, Colo.; sisters, Dorothy Herrman, of Hays, Phyllis Schuster, of Federal Heights, Colo., and Hermine Linton, of Potomac, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 24, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Salina. Burial will follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Tammy Walker Cancer Center.
