Ivan K. “Ike” Boyer, 87, Minneapolis, died Thursday, July 23, 2015. He was born January 11, 1928 in Ottawa County to Chester and Alma (Henning) Boyer.
Ike served in the United States Air Force from 1946 to 1949. On December 1, 1951, he was united in marriage with Helen Jean Sparger in Minneapolis. He worked various jobs including the Citizen’s National Bank, ElDorado, and Griffin’s Contracting.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Helen on April 30, 1999; and his sister Evelyn Wyatt.
Survivors include his son Kenneth Boyer and wife Joletta; daughters Sandra Lee and husband Steve and Sharolyn Boyer; sister Virginia Debold; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2:30 P.M., Monday, July 27, at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. There will be no visitation and memorials may be made to the Ivan K. Boyer Memorial Fund to be designated later. The family requests causal attire be worn.
