Earl Hanchett, 83, of Salina, died Friday, March 15, 2013. He was born July 2, 1929, near Delphos to Herbert C. and Velma (Goodall) Hanchett. On May 7, 1950, he married Coleen L. Cyr at Assaria Lutheran Church. For many years, he was a salesman for International Harvester, and later, he worked for ElDorado Bus Co., Salina. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Salina.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Survivors include his wife, Coleen; three daughters, Linda Schrag and husband Jerry, of McPherson, Tara Cupps and husband Terry, of Wichita, and Kay Hanchett, of Salina; a sister, Virginia Hanchett, of Hill City; a brother, Cliff Hanchett, of Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Troy Schrag and wife Jami and Jody Childs and husband Chad; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Cremation has taken place.
The family will receive friends from 9:30-10 a.m. Monday, March 25, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 901 Neal, Salina, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Barry Dundas officiating.
Private inurnment will be at a later date in Delphos Cemetery, Delphos.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Trinity United Methodist Church, Sunflower Adult Day Services or Smoky Hill Rehabilitation Center. Ryan Mortuary, Salina, is in charge of arrangements.

Sandra L. “Sandy” Mitchell was taken to her eternal home on Monday, March 18, 2013. Sandy was born Nov. 30, 1945, in Salt Lake City to James and Evelyn McCune.
Sandy was a graduate of Topeka West High School in Topeka. She was united in marriage with James S. (Stan) Mitchell on June 11, 1966, at First Congregational Church in Topeka. Sandy was an active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Salina and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML). She also was a long-time member of the church choir, served on numerous church committees and participated in many community projects.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn McCune. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Stan Mitchell; her father, James McCune, of Topeka; her children, Mike Mitchell and his wife, Karen, of Topeka, Bill Mitchell and his wife, Margy, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Amy Shuart and her husband, Tim, of Salina; her brother, James (Bud) McCune and his wife, Donna, of Fort Mill, S.C.; her sister, Barbara Nutsch and her husband, Bob, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Sandy loved to cook, bake, work in her flower gardens and just spend time with her many friends. She loved music equally as well and spent many years singing in the church choir. She was loved by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 26, as follows: Internment will be held at 10 a.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the church, where the family will receive friends from 6:30-8.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kaye Pogue Hospice Center or Christ the King Lutheran Church Choir Fund and may be left in care of Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
