vet_ffffff150x181-3790751John Calvin Bishop SR, 82 of Abilene passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Via Christi Hospital in Wichita. He was born October 31, 1932 in Panama City, Florida, the son of Allen Dewey and Nora Geraldine (Magrino) Bishop. He graduated from Crawfordville, Florida in 1950. John served in the United States Army for 22 years, retiring as Sergeant First Class. After retiring from the Army, he went on to Manhattan Vo Tech and later worked for Civil Services at Ft. Riley in the Air and Heating department. On June 16, 1953 he was united in marriage to Annie June Browning in Thomasville, Georgia. She preceded him in death April 6, 2014.
John is survived by his children: Connie Hughes of Idalou, Texas, Sharon Smith of Abilene, Kansas and John Bishop JR of Grandview, Kansas. Fifteen Grandchildren, Twenty Great-Grandchildren and Three Great-Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife June, one grandson, Cody Hughes, one brother and three sisters.
Funeral Services for John will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Ft. Riley. Family will receive friends Monday evening from 7-8 P.M. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Kansas Honor Flight. Memorials may be dropped off or mailed to Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW Third St., Abilene, Kansas 67410.

65, passed away Wednesday, October 21st, in Salina. He was born May 27, 1950 in Abilene, the son of James and Sandy (Kornberger) McMillan. Growing up in Enterprise, Dave attended local schools. He enjoyed Kansas State football and entertaining his friends. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.

The family has chosen cremation. A memorial inurnment will be held 1:30 PM Tuesday, October 27the at the Greenridge Cemetery , Industry. SHERLENE ANN HITSMAN, 67 died October 20, 2015 at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan, KS. She was born on August 17, 1948 in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Ronald and Emily (Harper) Hitsman. Sherlene was raised in the Topeka area. She worked for Nelson Poultry, Ray’s IGA and Hutchinson Mayrath. She was a member of the Faith Mission Church in Clay Center. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors:

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Faith Mission Church in Clay Center, KS

Officiating the service will be Paul Woellhof

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 3-8pm atNeill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home

Darrin-Koehn-1445528162Darrin Wayne Koehn, 47, of Galva, KS, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Via Christi – St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita. He worked for Precision Industries for 25 years, where he was a foreman in the polish department.

Darrin was born on July 13, 1968, in McPherson, KS, the son of Wayne Dean and RLou E. (Holm) Koehn. He lived in McPherson County his entire life and graduated from Canton-Galva High School in 1986.

Survivors include: father, Wayne D. Koehn of McPherson, KS; mother, RLou Wilson of Galva, KS; brother, Dallas Koehn and wife, Alison, of Galva, KS; niece, Ashley Powell of Lehigh, KS; goddaughter, Tessa Zaideman of Moundridge, KS; and grandparents, Arlie and Norma Holm of Galva, KS.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Henry and Lenora Koehn.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 26, 2015, at New Gottland Lutheran Church with Pastor Chuck Baker officiating. Burial will follow at New Gottland Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, October 25, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be given to Darrin Koehn Memorial Fund for the benefit of his goddaughter, Tessa, in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.

3359250Jerry Pierce, 68, Washington, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the Washington County Hospital.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the United Methodist Church, Washington.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., on October 23, at the Ward Funeral Home in Washington.

Burial will be in the Washington City Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; daughters, Lisa (Christopher Hatten) Winger-Hatten, Pleasant Hill, MO. Amanda (Andy) Ohmes, Jordan, MN; sister-in-law, Martha (Tom) Tice, Centreville, VA; brothers, James, Terry, Joe; sisters, Sandra, Mildred, Melissa, Linda, Darlene; and eight grandsons, Jacob, Nicholas, Joshua, Mason, Benjamin, Owen, Maxwell and Carter.

A memorial fund is established to the Shriner’s Hospital or the United Methodist Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.

Ann Marie Keding, 76, of Lindsborg, passed away October 21, 2015.

She was born January 30, 1939, the daughter of Edwin and Lillie (Sundquist) Sundeen outside of Marquette, KS.

On June 30, 1957, Ann was united in marriage to Willard Keding in Lindsborg, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant daughter, Sherry Ann Keding.

Ann leaves behind many loved ones including her husband, Willard of Lindsborg, son, Randy Keding of Lindsborg, daughters: Darla Crowther (Jim) of Roxbury, Debbie Jacobson (Jake) of Roxbury, brother, Harry Sundeen (Sally) of Oklahoma, three grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, October 23, from 4-7pm with family present from 6-7pm at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 24, at the Evangelical Covenant Church, Lindsborg, with burial following at Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg.

Memorials may be designated for the Keding family, Evangelical Covenant Church, or Angel Arms Home Health in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N. Washington, PO Box 386, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
