95, passed away Sunday, September 27th, in Enterprise. She was born November 22, 1919 in Oklahoma City, the daughter of Ray V. and Lona Mae (Huffman) Graves. Growing up in Solomon, Helen attended local schools and graduated from Solomon High Schools with the class of 1938. On February 14, 1940 she was married to Chester Rose. All of their married life was spent farming south of Abilene. He preceded her in death September 11, 1972. Helen had been employed by Alco Warehouse from 1972 to 1994. She enjoyed spending time with her family, being outside on the farm, K.U. sports, quilting and sewing. Helen was preceded in death by a grandson, a sister, four brothers, a daughter-in-law and a son-in-law. She was a member of the Abilene First Christian Church.

Charles Walter Weaver Jr., 64, of Salina, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2015. He was born in Monterey, Calif., to Charles Sr. and Geneva (Reich) Weaver.
Charles served in the U.S. Navy and was a longtime baker at Russell’s Restaurant.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bobbie Weaver; nephew, Steven L.; son, Dustin Newton; and mother-in-law, Judith Marie Newton.
Charles is survived by his wife, Ann Weaver; sisters, Ida Martin, and Eva S.; brother, Doug (Cindy) Long; father-in-law, Don Newton; sisters-in-law, Judy (Rob) Stanley and April Barnett; brothers-in-law, Walter Newton and Jason Buttenhoff; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Ryan Mortuary.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina. Burial will follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

Radmila Larson, 94, of Salina, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015. She was born Jan. 16, 1921, in Yugoslavia.
She is survived by a son, Nick Sapegin, of Arvada, Colo.
Cremation has taken place; and a memorial service will be held in 2016.
The family suggests memorials to the Salina Symphony or the Epilepsy Foundation, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Ruby Johnson, 70, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 3:50 a.m., Sunday, September 27th, surrounded by her family, at her home.
Ruby was born in Corona, California on July 17, 1945, a daughter of Kathryn L. (Clark) and Kenneth E. Malm.
Ruby attended the Lindsborg and Marquette grade schools and attended Lindsborg High School her freshman year and graduated from Marquette High School, Marquette, Kansas in 1963. Ruby attended and graduated from the McPherson School of Nursing and received her LPN when she was 46 years old.
Ruby was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church McPherson, Kansas where she taught Sunday school, and served her church in many capacities through the years.
Ruby was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. Ruby and John owned and operated John R. Johnson Construction where she was bookkeeper. She later worked as a LPN for the Cedars for a while before going to Family Practice from which she retired at the age of 63.
Ruby enjoyed reading, talking to her kids, recipes and cooking shows, gardening and had a green thumb.
Ruby K. Malm was united in marriage to John R. Johnson on November 25, 1961 at McPherson, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in McPherson.
Ruby is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over fifty-three years, John Johnson, of McPherson, Kansas; her children, Tracy Weber and her husband Brian, of Abeline, Kansas, Joy Shumway and her husband Randy, of Wichita, Kansas, Chad Johnson and his wife Sue, of McPherson, Kansas, and Ben Johnson and his wife Julie, of Goddard, Kansas; her siblings, Freda Talbott and her husband Kenneth, of Marquette, Kansas, Frances Day, of Torrance, California, and Russell Malm and his wife Flora, of Marquette, Kansas; her 11 grandchildren, Adam Ramsey and his wife Karen, Kirk Ramsey, Jamie Charpentier and her husband Grant, Langley Hallinger and her husband Travis, Truman Shumway, Raegen Shumway, Jack Shumway, Skye Colaw and her husband Alex, Cort Johnson, Jarrett Johnson, and Sydni Johnson; her 4 great-grandchildren – Ethan, Trace, Owen, and Eli Hallinger; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at the New Gottland Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural McPherson.
The memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson, Kansas, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2nd, 2015 with The Reverend Tim Leaf officiating.

Mark Anthony Alton Moore, 28, of Russell, Kansas passed away Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Russell Regional Hospital where he lost his battle with addiction.
Mark was born May 5, 1987 in Overland Park, Kansas, the son of Michael W. Moore and Julia L. Witt. He grew up in the Overland Park area and graduated from Shawnee Mission South in the Class of 2005. He lived most of his life in the Kansas City area before moving to Russell in 2011.
Mark worked in the restaurant and food service industry. He was a manager for Planet Sub and Minsky’s in the Kansas City area and was currently working at Klema’s Apple Market in Russell. He was an active member in the AA Chapter of Hays. He loved listening to music, playing golf, supporting his Nebraska Huskers, Kansas Jayhawks and Kansas City Chiefs and spending time with his niece Lyla.
Surviving family include his mother, Julia Witt of Russell, Kansas; father, Michael Moore (Susan) of Olathe, Kansas; sister, Rachel Mott of Kansas City, Missouri; grandfather, Anthony Witt of Russell, Kansas, grandmother, Betty Moore of Temecula, California; niece Lyla Mott of Kansas City, Missouri; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gene Moore, his grandmother, Rosanna Witt, and his aunt, Rebecca Witt.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the St. Mary, Queen of Angels Catholic Church of Russell. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Russell. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
