vet_ffffffDarrell Wayne Rogg, 72, of Salina, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at St. Francis Via Christi Hospital in Wichita. After many weeks of a courageous battle to live, God mercifully gave him rest.

Darrell was born Sept. 16, 1943, in Russell, the son of Doran and Helen (Feil) Rogg and was the second and only son of three children.

He attended Cedar Creek, a country school, for the first four years and Bunker Hill Elementary and High School thereafter. Darrell graduated from high school in 1961. He attended college at Fort Hays State University and graduated with a B.S. in business administration in 1966.

After many wonderful years in Russell, Darrell loved his new home in Salina and adapted to new people, new adventures and the quality of life that his new town had to offer.

He was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of BPO Elks No. 1715 in Russell, member of the Noon Salina Rotary Club and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Salina.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He will be sincerely missed by his sisters, Judy Saul, of Russell, and Diane Waymaster and husband Mike, of Bunker Hill, as well as his nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Thank you to all the friends and family and his wonderful church family for all the love and support that was sent and the prayers that were constantly lifted up on his behalf and on the behalf of the family throughout this time.

Family will be receiving friends from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Ryan Mortuary.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 901 E. Neal, Salina. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. in Bunker Hill Cemetery, Bunker Hill.

Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or Saline County Animal Shelter and may be sent to or left in care of the mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
