pet30325Audrey Thurland (Crabtree) Peterson, 87, of Salina, passed away at Presbyterian Manor on Monday, March 25, 2013.

She was born Sept. 18, 1925, in Lyndon, the only child of Thurland Crabtree and Mabel Howie Crabtree. She graduated from high school in Stanton, Iowa, and later married Clarence Peterson in Salina on Jan. 22, 1949.

Audrey was the office manager for Peter Pan Cleaners of Salina, became a homemaker while raising their son, and later was a vari-typist for Salina Blueprint Company.

She served in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, PTA past president, Cub Scout den mother and was past-president of the Lady Elks. Audrey was a member of the Salina Women’s Bowling League, Deltiology Society and played bridge with many different groups throughout Salina for more than 50 years. She won many awards with her cross-stitch projects.

Audrey is survived by her husband of 64 years, Clarence Peterson; a son, Kevin Peterson and wife Lynn of Salina; a grandson, Kip Peterson, of Kansas City, Mo.; a granddaughter, Kendra Peterson Kreimendahl and husband Chad, of Overland Park; and great-grandchildren, Corbin Kreimendahl, Katelyn Kreimendahl, Kira Kreimendahl, Claire Kreimendahl and a baby boy Kreimendahl (due in April).

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 28, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Salina, with Pastor Ed Foster officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends. A private family inurnment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park.
