vet_ffffffJames E. Fleagle, 69 of Enterprise, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Enterprise Estates. He was born October 2, 1946 in Abilene, the son of Eugene and Dorothy (Mastellar) Fleagle. James attended the Abilene School districts and graduated from Abilene High School. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Kansas Wesleyan. He enlisted in the Air Force serving 12, including service in the Philippines during the Vietnam War. On February 2, 1973 he was united in marriage to Heather McKenzie in Tacoma, Washington. James worked at the Eisenhower Museum as a Librarian and was the Present Pastor at Enterprise United Methodist Church in Enterprise. He was a member of the Enterprise United Methodist Church in Enterprise, the Masonic Lodge in Enterprise and he served on the city council in Enterprise.
James is survived by his loving wife Heather. One son, Phillip Fleagle and wife Darci of Enterprise and one step-son, Michael Forney of Bainbridge Island, Washington. Two grandchildren; Kallan Fleagle and Josephine Forney. One sister, Roberta Hoover of Florida.
Funeral Services for James will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Enterprise United Methodist Church in Enterprise with Pastor Roger Walls Officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery south of Enterprise. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 5-7P.M., at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home in Abilene. The family suggests memorials be given to the Enterprise United Methodist Church in Enterprise. Memorials may be dropped off or mailed to Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home in Abilene.

(August 19, 1936 – December 7, 2015)

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 11, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with burial in St. John’s Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. John’s Memorial Trust Fund. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the McDonald Funeral Home where the Parish Vigil and Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M.

DEAN E. LIBY, 89 died December 8, 2015 at Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, KS. He was born on August 26, 1926 in Clay County, KS, the son of Albert and Josephine (Gonser) Liby. Dean was raised in Morganville and graduated from Morganville High School in 1945. He married Louise Gunter on October 29, 1950.
Dean worked for Marshall Motors, Key Milling and Clay Center COOP before retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and coached Girl’s Softball. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 grandsons, 1 great granddaughter and 2 son in-laws.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 10:30AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center, KS

Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul Tessaro

Burial will be in the Miltonvale Cemetery, Miltonvale, KS

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 3-8PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home

Memorials: may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church and can be sent in care of the funeral home.

MARTHA JANE OLSON, 90 died December 8, 2015 at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, KS. He was born on April 11, 1925 in Ottawa County, KS, the daughter of Andrew and Minnie (Smith) Hoard. Martha attended Sleepy Hollow country school near Miltonvale. She attended Friends Academy High School at North Branch, KS until it closed. She graduated from Burr Oak High School. Following high school, she worked at the North Branch telephone office and at McCarthy’s Hardware I Mankato. Martha married Dale Olson on February 17, 1946. They made their home in Mankato, Belleville, Superior, NE, Delphos, Longmont, CO and Salina before moving to Miltonvale in 1972. Martha owned and operated Western Auto in Miltonvale until they moved to Topeka in 1981. They managed a Motel 6 in Topeka before returning to Miltonvale in 1989. Dale preceded her in death on July 28, 1990. Martha was a member of F,C, Hill Memorial Wesleyan Church and the Senior Citizens Center, both of Miltonvale. He is preceded in death by her parents, great-grandson, Dalen Wyatt, 2 sisters, Ethel Mikesell and Junelda Dillon and 5 brothers, Elmer, Keith, Earl, Harry Lee and Charles Hoard.

Hillsboro – Lewis Hagen, 86, died December 8, 2015 at Parkside Home in Hillsboro.  He was born June 5, 1929 in Hillsboro to John and Carrie (Wall) Hagen.  He was an electrician.  He married LaVada David December 20, 1954 in Hillsboro.  Survivors include: son, John (Marlene) Hagen of Rural Inman; daughters, Coleen (Murray) Koop of Hillsboro, Tammy (Kenny) Ollenburger of Hillsboro; brother, Arlys (Carol) Hagen of Monument, Colorado; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  Predeceased by his wife in 2015.  Celebration of Life Service 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church officiated by Pastor Garvie Schmidt.  Family will receive guests from 6 to 8 Thursday at the Church Hearth room.  Interment 3:00 p.m. Friday at The Hillsboro M.B. Hillsboro – Gerald Houser, 61, died December 9, 2015 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita.  He was born January 14, 1955 to George and Agnes (Kissinger) Houser at Norman, Oklahoma.  He was a painter.  He married Martha Viktora November 13, 1987 at Wichita.  Survivors include: wife, Martha Houser of Rural Hillsboro; son, Justin Houser of Seattle, WA; daughters, Cassie Ransom of Wichita, Alecia (Dan) Comer of Marshfield, Mass.; brothers, Grant of Phoenix, Arizona, Gary of Junction City, KS, Geoffrey of Junction City, KS; 3 grandchildren, Kylee, Grace, and Arielle Comer.  Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 at Holy Family Parish, St. Mark Church of Marion.  Rosary 9:30 a.m. at the Church on Friday.  Family will receive guests from 6 to 8 Thursday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  Memorials to Holy Family Parish or Carmel of the Immaculate Heart of Mary of Powell, WY in care of Jost Funeral Home P.O. Downs,Ks—Max LeRoy Goheen,  passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Golden Living Center, Downs.   He was born June 12, 1936 in Delta, CO., the son of Carl Ellis and Laura Eveline (Reinheimer) Goheen.

He was a gun/coin dealer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Margot in 2014, sister, Carol Woodcock, and brothers, Chalmer and Richard.

He is survived by his daughter, Laura Jean Elizabeth of Germany, step-son, Benjamin of Germany, step-daughter, Jennifer of Switerland, two step-grandchildren, brother David (Zoe) Goheen of Downs, and sister, Debra (Chris) Curtis of Osborne, sister-in-law, Ortha Goheen of Osborne, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Memorial service will be Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Downs United Methodist Church.  No visitation.

Memorials may be given to the Downs Food Bank and Downs Senior Center.
