Evelyn J. Eddy, 86, of Salina, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013. She was born Dec. 8, 1926, in Muskogee, Okla., the daughter of Virgil and Jewell (Brown) Cole. She married Jack V. Eddy on Dec. 13, 1947, and they recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Evelyn was a member of the Union Pacific Old Timer Auxiliary, Lady Elks, EHU Club and Redbird Circle. She was a past officer of the DAV and enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels. She was also an avid quilter.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Cole.
Survivors include her husband, Jack; children, Dale Eddy and wife Kathy, of Salina, Alice Eddy Sears and husband Bill, of Opal, Wyo., Barbara Eddy Disney and Mike Hopper, both of Goodland, and Stan Eddy, of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; stepdaughter, Carole Ellsworth and husband Larry, of Queens Creek, Ariz.; sister-in law, Sharron Cole, of Alvin, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four nephews.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at University United Methodist Church, Salina.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
