NEWTON – Glenda Mosiman, age 82, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 17, 2016. She was born Feb. 3, 1934 in rural Ensign, Kansas. Glenda was married to Duane (Butch) Mosiman for 45 wonderful years. She is survived by her husband, Duane (Butch) Mosiman; two daughters, Marcia Ensz and husband Joel. Marchel Thiessen and husband Ken. Five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, as well as her brother, Gail D. Zimmerman and her sister Karlene (Zimmerman) Donze and sister Liz Fullom. Family visitation will be Friday, Feb. 19; 6-8 pm at the Family Life Center in Whitewater, KS. (703 E. Central Whitewater, KS 67154). We will celebrate her memory Saturday, Feb. 20 at 2:00PM, with a service at Swiss Church (125 S. Oak St.) in Whitewater, KS. Memorials have been established with Swiss Family Life Center and Frederick Remington Middle School Library.

Garry Karl Johnson, 77, of Salina, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, at his home. He was born Nov. 8, 1938, in Brookville, the son of Leon and Lillian (Bruniston) Johnson.
Garry was a lifelong farmer and stockman on the family farm east of Salina. He loved cattle and farming and he was very good at his job. Garry was a member of St John’s Lutheran Church, Southeast of Saline School Board and Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Leister Johnson; two sons, Kevin (Christine) Johnson and Kurtis Johnson; grandson, Bryson Johnson; brother, Don (Joan) Johnson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb 18, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, with family greeting visitors from 5-7.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, with burial following in Poheta Cemetery near Kipp.
Memorials are to the church or Salina Animal Shelter.

Clara A. Brown, 96, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016. She was born Clara A. Rogers on July 2, 1919. She was the daughter of Oren and Cora (Luckinbill) Rogers. Clara grew up on a farm two miles north of Glasco, KS and graduated from Glasco High School in 1937. She was the sixth of seven children having two brothers, George and Onie, and four sisters, Mary, Nellie, Alma, and Del.
In 1940, Clara married James K. Brown and moved to Wichita in 1942. They lived in Wichita until they moved to Ellsworth, KS in 2001.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, and three sisters.
Survivors include: two daughters, Kay of Las Vegas, NV and Judy (Gerry) of Kanopolis, KS; two sons, James Jr. of Wichita, KS and Mike (Marie) of Dallas, TX; one granddaughter, Ginger (Dale) of Salina, KS; four grandsons, Michael (Angie) of Windsor, CO, Mitch (Angie) of Gypsum, KS, Travis (Suzanne) of Austin, TX, and Jason (Dana) of Dallas, TX; sixteen great grandchildren; one sister, Del of Oakley, KS; and many nieces and nephews.
Clara was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church in Wichita. She spent many hours reading and studying her Bible. In recent years, she enjoyed spending time with friends in a Bible study class. She was a quiet, reserved person.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 22, 2016 at Ellsworth First United Methodist Church with burial following in the Kanopolis Cemetery.

Hillsboro – Elma Warkentin, 96, died February 17, 2016 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro. She was born February 4, 1920 to John and Lena (Loewen) Schultz at Lehigh. She married Albert Warkentin March 5, 1946 at The Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church in Hillsboro. Survivors include: sons, Ronald (Clarice) Warkentin of Hillsboro, Robert (Coleen) Warkentin of Salina; brothers, LeRoy Schultz of Henderson, Nebraska, John Schultz of Buhler; 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Albert Warkentin in 1995. JoAnne Rivers, 71, of Linn, KS, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at her home in Linn.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Linn.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, February 22 at Ward Funeral Home in Linn.
Burial will be in the Linn City Cemetery.
JoAnne was born March 9, 1944 in Cawker City, Kansas to Gerald and Martha (Hunter) Bussart. In April of 1975, she married Henry Rivers in California. They later divorced.
Joanne was first a mother and raised her four children on her own until 1975. She worked as a manager at several coin laundries in Lancaster, CA. She also worked at the LA Times and Antelope Valley Press, also in Lancaster.
Joanne enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Jewell Meadows, Linn; sons, Joe (Carol) Starks, Nova Scotia, Mark Starks; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Darold Starks; and three sisters.
