
Joe was born in Somerville, New Jersey on April 22, 1947, son of the late Alma Arnetta (Fidler) and Richard Franklin Shively.
Joe worked as a Teacher at South Middle School. He was very engaged in ESL teaching. He also worked at the Smoky Hill Museum, the Salina Public Library, and Waldenbooks at Central Mall.
He is survived by four daughters, Paula Shively, of Marietta, Georgia, Debra Shively, of Salina, Kansas, Julie Sharkey, and husband Steve, of Liberty, Missouri, Joanna Briel, and husband Ryan, of Lenexa, Kansas; son, David Shively, and wife Ashley, of Carlton, Kansas; grandchildren, Braden Anguiano, Katelyn Shively, Michael Sharkey, Tyler Briel, and Hayden Briel; ex-wife and good friend, Lynn Shively.
Family will greet friends Sunday, February 21st from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina.
Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 22nd, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Salina, Kansas with Fr. Kevin Weber officiating.

The family moved to Minneapolis when Dorothy was a young child. She attended Pleasant Hill Elementary School and Minneapolis High School where she was a 1950 graduate. Dorothy attended Hutchinson Junior College and then the University of Kansas where she graduated in 1955 with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She worked at various hospitals including Asbury in Salina, Women’s Hospital in Utah, Passavant in Chicago, the University of Kansas Medical Center, Bates County Hospital in Missouri, and Newman Hospital in Emporia. Dorothy retired in 1992.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Marva Jolene Adee and her husband Evan; and brother-in-law Willard Moeder.
Survivors include her sisters Lenna Hope Moeder of Salina and Karen Lucille Iselin and her husband Bill of Tempe, AZ; longtime friend Arinetta Bolton of Salina; and seven nieces and three nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 20 at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 12:30 until the service time Saturday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Memorials may be made to Brookdale Hospice or the Emmanuel Foursquare Church.

Carol Ann Emig, 75, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, February 17th, at Salina Regional Health Center, Kansas.
Carol was born in Ipsalanti, Michigan on February 12, 1941, a daughter of the late Clytie Opal (Blanchard) and Ralph Melvin Horner.
Survivors include six daughters, Brenda K. Calsing, and husband Dennis, of Guymon, Oklahoma; Darlene May, and husband Robert, of Guymon, Oklahoma; Justine L. Kerth, of Niceville, Florida; Patricia L. Norris, and husband Lloyd, of Salina, Kansas; Sherri A. Copeland, and husband Chris, of Tyrone, Oklahoma; Sheila S. Williams, and husband Cedric, of Junction City, Kansas. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren 16 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and her faithful dog, Angel.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and grandchildren, Jason Erick May and Anthony Kirk Livingston.
At the family’s request there will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20th, at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina, Kansas, with Rev. Jon M. Fillipi officiating.

Phillip O. Carlson, 93, of Salina, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2016. He was born in Gypsum, on May 22, 1922, to Albert and Edith Carlson.
Phil retired from Rickel Manufacturing in 1984 and enjoyed traveling with his wife Donna for nine years before she passed. At age 78, Phil married Theresa Dykes and had 12 wonderful years with her.
Phil was a World War II veteran and longtime VFW member. He farmed with his dad and brother in the Gypsum area.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; brothers, Neal, Donovan and Gary; and son, William Lee.
Phil is survived by his daughter, Lexa Brown; son, Lanny Carlson; 10 stepchildren; 32 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, with family receiving friends from 6-8, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Ryan Mortuary. Burial will follow in Gypsum City Cemetery, Gypsum.
Memorials are to Salina VFW Post 1432 or Gypsum United Methodist Church.

JERI E. TOURNEY, 62 died February 17, 2016 at Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, KS. She was born on November 22, 1953 in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of Gerald and Mary (Neff) Mahsman. Jeri was raised in Palmyra, MO and graduated from Palmyra High School. She married Ronald Tourney on March 30, 1973. Jeri was a teacher for Clay County Head Start. She was preceded in death by her father.

Ramon Lee Stoltenberg, 82, passed away February 15, 2016 in Hoisington. He was born February 14, 1934 in Ellsworth to Leona Ann (Kootz) and Henry Herman Stoltenberg.
A lifetime resident of Ellsworth County, Ramon was a mechanic and engine analyst technician for Northern Natural and Enron.
He served his country in the US Air Force between the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was also a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Holyrood.
Ramon is survived by his son, Henry Stoltenberg (Kay) of Bellevue, NE; and grandchildren, William Wilkins, and Andrew, Sarah, Ryan, and Thomas Stoltenberg. He was preceded in death by his parents.
