Clyda Joy Bonney, 89, of Miltonvale, Kansas, passed away Thursday, March 3rd, at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, Kansas.
Bonnie was born in Mayetta, Kansas on July 14, 1926.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherryl Bruce, of Gardner, Kansas; four grandchildren, Jason Bruce, D.J. Bruce, Matt Bruce, Tanner Roney; three great grandchildren, Landen Bruce, Jackson Bruce, Jameson Bruce.
She is preceded in death by her son, Robert E. Roney.
At Bonnie’s request there will be no visitation as she donated her body to science at KU Medical Center.
A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.

Richard Lee Reeves, 40, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016. He was born Aug. 5, 1975, at Asbury Hospital in Salina to Charles and Virginia (Hughes) Reeves.
Richard attended Whittier Grade School and graduated from Salina High School and K-State Salina. He achieved a black belt in tae kwon do and was an instructor.
Left to mourn his passing are his mother, Virginia; sister, Diana Pruitt and husband Joe; niece, Amber Strong and husband Casey and their children, Gloria, Ethan and Colin; nephews, Cameron and Eli Gibbs; grandmother, Ava Reeves; stepmother, Mary Marie Reeves; stepsister, Donna Adams; stepbrother, Terry Richard, special little friend. Mariah Janda; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Those who have gone before him are his father, Charles; grandpa, Keith, and grandma, Beulah Hughes; grandpa, Walter Reeves; stepbrother, Stacy Richard; aunts, Ida Mae Gustafson, Marie McDaniel and Syble Morgan; and uncles Harry Hughes, Jabo Reeves and James Reeves.
Richard always loved the “munchkins” (as he called them) for the 30 years his mother had a day care in their home. Richard was a kind, gracious, generous man and would do anything for anyone.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 7, at Walnut Grove Cemetery in western Saline County. Anyone is welcome.

Brian L. Montague, 54, of Salina, died at his home Wednesday, March 2, 2016, of colorectal cancer. He was born Feb. 1, 1962, in Ottawa to Daryl and Cynthia Montague.
He graduated in 1980 from Pomona High School and in May 1985 from Kansas State University, with a bachelor’s degree in natural resources management.
After graduating from Kansas State, Brian worked for a short time as a park ranger at Pomona Reservoir for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He worked for 18 years for the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, serving as assistant manager at Wilson State Park and then Kanopolis State Park before returning to Wilson State Park as manager.
In 2004, after receiving an associate degree in respiratory therapy from California College for Health Sciences, he began working full time at Salina Regional Health Center. He also worked part time as a respiratory therapist at Ellsworth Medical Center and Abilene Memorial Hospital.
Brian gave joyously of his time and his resources. He was always excited to sit down and decide which organization to give to each month. He was also strong in his faith and not timid about sharing it.
He was a volunteer meal-server at the Salvation Army and for the past four years served as a Big Brother to Andrew through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daryl.
He was married to Sharon Christ on June 8, 1985, in Leavenworth.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of the home; a son, Mark, of Manhattan; a daughter, Kimberly, of Lenexa; his mother, Cynthia Montague, of Meriden; his brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Tonia Montague, of Meriden; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Covenant Church, Salina, the Rev. Doug McHenry officiating. The body will be cremated.

Howard Parker, Jr., 68, of Smolan, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, March 2nd, at Salina Regional Health Center.
Howard was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 29, 1947, to Refregee Parker and the late Inez (Peden) Parker. He grew up in Gary, Indiana and graduated from Tolleston High School in 1967.
Howard was a career soldier in the United States Army. He was also a gifted musician and vocalist who was able to play many instruments, specializing in piano. He played in several bands over the years in the Salina area.
Survivors include his father; daughters, Michelle Mitchell and her husband Anthony, of Anna, Texas;
and Andrianna Bryant, of Gary, Indiana; brother, Steven Parker, of Gary, Indiana; sisters, Karen Nolan, of Highland, Indiana, and Rosalyn Whitfield, of Merrillville, Indiana; as well as grandchildren, Rio Bryant, Terry Mitchell, Gabrielle Mitchell, Austin Mitchell, and Caleb Mitchell.
Howard is preceded in death by his mother, and sister, Diane Parker.
Cremation has been chosen and there will not be visitation.
Memorial services will be at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 7th.

Paul Eugene Morgan, 53, of Salina, Kansas, passed away in his home on the morning of Tuesday, March 1, 2016.
Paul was born in Cotton Valley, Louisiana on May 19, 1962, to the late Glenda M. (Edwards) Barber and Paul Morgan, Sr. Paul is the brother to Pamela L. Morgan of Shreveport, Louisiana, and to the late Dale Barber of Maquoketa, Iowa.
On June 1, 2002, Paul married Marva J. Fetter at Jerry Ivy Park in Salina, Kansas.
Survivors include his wife, Marva Morgan of the home; sons, Marvin E. (Ashley) Morgan, Jacob P. (Erica) Morgan, Casey R. (Michelle) Morgan, and Seth T. Morgan; and his daughter, Danielle M. (Saun) Morgan. Paul was “Grandpa” to two grandsons, Peyton and Brody, and five granddaughters, Addison, Dalayne, Soyer, Cadyn, and Rylee.
Paul worked for Long McArthur Inc., Salina, and for more than 25 years, operated his own business as a musician and sound engineer. Paul was well known in the community for his service to the Salina Arts and Humanities, the Smoky Hill River Festival, the Smoky Hill Museum, and the Stiefel Theatre.
Memorial service will be held at New Community Christian Church, Salina, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12th, 2016, with Dave Henry officiating.

NEWTON – Donald E. “Don” Nightengale, age 80, passed away March 3, 2016, at Asbury Park of Newton. He was born April 15, 1935, at Canton, Kansas. He was the son of Sam and Della (Luginbill) Nightengale. He graduated from Burns High School in 1953, where he was a member of the 1953 State Champion Basketball Team. On September 20, 1955, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Twylah Schmidt. Their marriage was blessed with three daughters: Peggy, Carol and Janet. They made their home near Florence, where Don was a farmer and rancher. He was also an oil field pumper. Don was an active member of Homestead Friends Church, in Clements, where he served as treasurer. After its closing, they attended the Christian Church of Florence. When they moved to Newton, they joined the Salem United Methodist Church. Don enjoyed playing cards and watching a good ball game. He was a loving husband, spoiling father and fun grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Melvin Nightengale; and a sister Betty Lou Nightengale. He is lovingly survived by his wife Twylah Nightengale of Newton; daughters: Peggy Leitzen and husband Doug of Marengo, Illinois; Carol Nightengale of Topeka; and Janet Turner and husband Bud of Eureka; siblings: Marvin Nightengale of Burns; and Barbara Moore of Wichita; 5 grandchildren: Rusty Turner, Adam Turner, Luke Turner, Jeremy Leitzen, and Amanda Pointer; and 20 great-grandchildren. Council Grove – Linda Sue Washburn, 59, of Council Grove, Kansas, passed away Thursday, March 03, 2016, at her residence.
She was born April 24, 1956 in Neligh, Nebraska, to Earl and Florence ( Lingenfelter) Moore.
Linda married Jose Washburn on November 16, 2000. She worked as a CNA at Alma Manor, retiring in 2012. Linda enjoyed fishing, horseback riding and babysitting her grandchildren. She loved her family, and her grandchildren were the loves of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Kyota Forkner.
Linda is survived by her husband Joe, of the home; her daughters, Terra Willis, of Wamego, Khristina Hearn, of Alta Vista and Tyna Teaney and husband Tim, of Alta Vista; step-sons, Dennis Hearn and wife Dane, of San Antonio, TX, Jason Hearn, of Emporia, John Hearn and wife Lisa, of Oak Grove, MO and Rocky Washburn and wife Wendi, of Council Grove. GWYNETHA PETTERSON, 67 died March 3, 2016 at Medicalodge in Clay Center, KS. She was born on December 19, 1948 in Omaha, NE. The daughter of Theodore and Della (Hendrickson) Petterson.
Gwynetha was raised in Omaha. After graduating high school, Gwynetha moved to New Mexico where she worked as a nanny for twelve years. She moved back to Omaha where she continued to work as a nanny. In 2002 she moved to Clifton and in 2012 to Clay Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Vernon.

Robert Norris “Bob” Arnold, 77, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 11:20 p.m., Thursday, March 3rd, 2016 peacefully, at McPherson Health And Rehab, McPherson, Kansas.
Bob was born in Wayne County, Michigan on September 14, 1938. At a young age he was placed in a foster family.
Bob attended the schools in Wayne County Michigan.
Bob honorably served in the U.S. Air Force in between the Korean and Vietnam wars.
Bob worked as a mechanic for a bottling factory in Detroit, Michigan and worked for Wendys in Salina, Kansas.
Bob is survived by his friends and caregivers Brad and Shannon Lewis, of Marquette, Kansas and several good friends in Salina and McPherson.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, his wife Stephie, and his baby daughter.
Services are private and will be at the convenience of family.

Amelia Ann Archer, 92, of McPherson, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at The Cedars in McPherson. Always innovative, Amelia enjoyed holistic and organic foods and would combine these new elements into her native Mediterranean cuisine to serve to family and friends.
Amelia was the oldest of her siblings and as such, she was fiercely protective and always the outspoken leader of her Italian clan. Amelia was born on January 16, 1924, the daughter of Francisco and Santa (Taglieri) Picariello. She was christened “Emelia Ann” but her name was later changed to “Amelia” by her first grade teacher.
She graduated from high school just prior to World War II and entered the world of service manufacturing, where she would meet her future husband and love of her life, Vincent Joseph Archer. They were married on July 3, 1949. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1986.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church and Italian-American Club, both of Beverly, MA. She also loved theatre and film and became an active member of the community theatre, where she both performed and provided gourmet meals for the cast and crew.
Survivors include: her son, Richard C. Archer of Beaufort, SC; daughter, Janet Beaudoin of Dataw, SC; former daughter-in-law, Jill Bremyer of McPherson, KS; brother, Luigi “Louie” Picariello of Beverly, MA; sister, Margaret Conley of Peabody, MA; seven grandchildren, Abbey Rierson (Cody), Samuel Archer, Allie Archer, Anna Archer, Max Archer, Daniel Beaudoin, and Ann Lemmon (Troy); five great-grandchildren, Harper, Vivi, & Jolie Rierson and Roryanna & Madasin Farrow.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Francisco and Santa Picariello; husband, Vincent Archer; brothers, Sabarto “Suby” and Francisco “Franky” Picariello; and sister, Mary Pietrini.
A private service will take place at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Cemetery in Beverly, MA at a later date and time to be determined.

Robert Dean Burton, 84, Washington, formerly of Haddam, died Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Washington County Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Christian Church, Morrowville with Pastor Ron Brown officiating.
Burial will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery, Haddam.
Bob was born on October 18, 1931 in Haddam to Raymond and Leone (Beem) Burton. He graduated from Washington High School in 1949 and attended Kansas State University. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Japan, working as a weather observer.
On May 31, 1980, he was united in marriage to Patricia Eichman of Independence Missouri. Bob was a lifelong farmer and stockman, and raised Shorthorn and Limousin cattle. Bob was a faithful member of the Morrowville Christian Church and attended whenever possible. He took great comfort in reading the Psalms.
Bob was an avid K-State fan, wearing the popular purple jacket and cap, and would watch K-State sports. He had a good memory for repeating jokes and loved to share with his friends. Bob had a knack for storytelling.
Bob is survived by his sisters, Mary Ampe, Pasadena, TX, Cara (Lawrence) Herrs, Washington; sister-in-law, Debbie (Tim) Cochran, Independence, MO; brother-in-law, David (Dana) Eichman; and nieces and nephews, Glenda (Ampe) Wheeler, Kathy (Ampe) Hamm, Janet (Ampe) Endecott, David Ampe, all of Pasadena, TX, Dana Herrs, Washington, Angie (Herrs) Staggenborg, Marysville and Corey Herrs, Tucson, AZ.

Fred Glen Nimz, 95, of Russell, Kansas, died on Thursday,
March 03, 2016, at the Via Christi Village in Hays, Kansas.
Fred was born on December 02, 1920, in Trego County, Kansas, the son of William and Celia (Rufenacht) Nimz. He grew up in Trego County, attended local schools and graduated from Trego Community High School in the class of 1938. After high school, he served his country and joined the United States Army Air Corps and fought during World War II in Europe. After the war, he enrolled at Ft. Hays State University and graduated with a Masters
Degree in Zoology. He met, fell in love and was united in marriage to Barbara Whisler on February 21, 1960, in Abilene, Kansas. He worked as a school teacher and taught at Healy High School in Healy, Kansas for 18 years. He retired on August 31, 1988. He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Russell. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, stamp collecting, gardening, reading, cooking, canning and making jelly,
Surviving family include his wife, of 56 years, Barbara
of the home, son Timothy Nimz and wife Kathy of Littleton, Colorado, daughter Linda Bealby and husband Brad of Woodland Park, Colorado and son David Nimz and wife Nancy of Lewisville, Texas; brother Marvin Nimz and wife Frances of WaKeeney, Kansas; sister Marjorie Cotton of Hoisington, Kansas; grandkids: Ashley, Drew, Hannah, Mark, Brandon and Brittany and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Leroy Nimz and Willie Nimz , and 2 sisters Emma Moody and Celia Nimz.
A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at 11 A.M.
on Tuesday, March 08, 2016, at the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Russell, Kansas, with Pastor Earl Haggard officiating. Burial will follow at the Russell City Cemetery in Russell. Military rites will be performed by the Russell V.F.W. Post #6240. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. on Monday, March 07, 2016, at the mortuary with family greeting guests from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. Monday evening.
