Lon Dean Crosson, 86, of Minneapolis died Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. Lon Dean was born February 20, 1930 to Herbert and Hazel (Wichizer) Crosson of rural Minneapolis.
He graduated from Minneapolis High School and served in the Air Force. Lon Dean was a lifetime farmer and stockman.
He married Barbara Kindall on February 3, 1952 and they spent 62 loving years together until her death in November of last year. Lon Dean loved to farm and was an avid toy collector.
Preceding him in death were his parents; siblings Herbert Crosson, Jr., Mildred Constable, and Mary Colard; his wife Barbara; and son Martin Crosson.
Survivors are Russell Crosson and wife Julie of Roswell, GA, Curtis Crosson and wife Joni of Hutchinson, Kent Crosson and wife Suzy of Minneapolis, and Becky Hilgenkamp and husband Rusty of Arlington, NE.; daughter-in-law Missy Crosson of Franklin, TN; sister-in-law Frances Crosson of Salina; 16 grandchildren; three step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 15 at the Hall Wesleyan Church, rural Delphos. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to Martin Crosson Scholarship Fund or Minneapolis High School FFA and may be left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O. Willard W. Rieke, son of Ervine Rieke and Edith (Larkins) Rieke was born January 3, 1921 at Rural Republic County, Kansas, near Chester, Nebraska and passed away on June 9, 2016 at Thayer County Health Services, Hebron, Nebraska at the age of 95 years, 5 months and 6 days.
He graduated from Chester High School. He was united in marriage to Anita L. Day on March 26, 1942 and to this union two children were born, Terry and Susan. He served with the United States Army during World War Two from September 3, 1943 to December 24, 1945.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervine and Edith Rieke, wife, Anita L. Rieke, one son, Terry Rieke, one brother, Loren, two sisters, Velma and Donna.
He is survived by one daughter, Susan (Ron) Moxham of Belleville, KS., six grandchildren, Julie (John) Mues, Angie (Wade) Jensik, Staci (Brian) McKernan, Randy (Kellie) Rieke, Robyn (John) Schultheiss, Roxann (Gregg) Holliday, fifteen great grandchildren, Jackson Mues, Jordyn Mues, Claire Jensik, Emily Jensik, Thomas McKernan, Joseph McKernan, Lukas McKernan, Cole McKernan, Leah Rieke, Sheridan Rieke, Alyson( Schultheiss) Haley, Adam Schultheiss, Sierra Holliday, Camden Holliday, Carson Holliday, daughter in law, Karen Rieke-Widhalm of Norfolk, NE, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends
Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 15, 2016, United Methodist Church, Chester, Nebraska, conducted by Pastor Mark Baldwin.
Inurnment will be in Chester Cemetery, Chester, Nebraska
Military Graveside Services by the United States Army Honor Guard.
