There will only be one Marvin Bradford, what a great husband, dad, grandpa, son, brother, and friend.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Carol Bradford; sons, Terry Bradford and wife Sonja, Gary Bradford; daughter, Connie Bolte and husband Jeff; stepsons, Travis Cook and wife Duana, Eric Dundaroo; step daughter, Traci Cook and significant other, Chad Meservey; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Esther and Maxine.
Marvin was never afraid to say his feelings or what was on his mind. Marvin loved stock car racing, hunting, guns, watermelon, rodeos, fishing, Pepsi, camping, auctions, animals of all kinds, and farming.
Marvin is remembered for driving his stock car #30 and winning!! He was a true champ!! His trophies are on display at the race car museum in Chapman, Kansas for all to see.
Then there is Dawson, Marvin’s grandson, not only his grandson but his best buddy. As Dawson races around the race track in his car #30, his grandpa will always be his biggest fan.
Marvin also loved Colorado, the elk hunting, the mountains, the tents, the cook shed, and the catch.
Marvin’s ashes will be spread at his favorite hunting spot in Colorado, in the mountains, watching the elk.
Marvin’s sunrise was September 3, 1944 and sunset was June 15, 2016 in Salina, Kansas.

Sandra Kay Miller, of Salina, was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven and into the arms of her loving Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, June 13, 2016.
Sandra’s life was defined by her devotion to her family, her love for the local church and her passion for prayer. Her relationship with Jesus gave her strength and courage throughout her life. Her generous love toward everyone is evident by the amount of people who called her “friend.”
Sandra created meaningful relationships for over 40 years with her clients from her salon business, Creative Hair. Her boundless creativity and dedication to the arts was on display in her home, her church and her community. She served as the worship and arts director at Emmanuel Foursquare Church for over a decade, although her heart was deeply connected to that church from its early days over 35 years ago. She wrote and directed over 20 musicals and dramatic productions, for which the community of Salina is eternally grateful.
Sandra’s heart was to see others experience the power and beauty of God, and she used worship services and the visual arts to help open others’ hearts to this message. She will always be remembered for her creative impact on the local church and for giving artists and musicians a place of expression within the church. The fruit of her leadership is still with us and her devotion to Jesus has inspired so many to desire a more personal knowledge of God.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 42 years, John G. Miller II; her daughters, Jennifer (JT) Caldwell, of Salina, and Brooklynn Miller, of the home; grandsons, Levi, Luke and Jackson; great-granddaughter, Kaelynn; mother, Joan McConnell, of Salina; sisters, Jeanne (Mike) Dugan, of Topeka, Kathy Cox and Karen (Wayne) Boyles, of Salina; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rex, in 2005, and sister, Marilyn, in 1977.
A visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Emmanuel Foursquare Church, 1325 E. Cloud, Salina, with a private family graveside service.

LINDSBORG — Betty Lou Sayers, 60, of Lindsborg, died Sunday, June 12, 2016. Betty was born Jan. 10, 1956, in Pratt, the daughter of Jimmie K. Carson and Donna L. Shelton. In 2004, Betty married Bob Sayers, and they resided in Wisconsin until his passing.
Betty loved to laugh, play cards, read, spend time with her grandchildren and rescue all kinds of animals. Betty attended Salina Central High School. She had many passions, including running a day care and working with citizens with disabilities.
Betty attended First Christian Church of Concordia, where she came to know Christ, was baptized and began her walk of faith.
Betty is survived by her sisters, Donna and her husband, Mike Brehm, of Lubbock, Texas, Cindy Carson, of Hays, brothers, Ralph and Peggy Carson, of Minneapolis, and David and Debra Carson, of Lake Stevens, Wash.; daughters, Donna and her husband, Austin Burchard, of Lutz, Fla., Juanita and her husband, Leroy Bean, of Lindsborg; son, Jerry Bishop Jr., of Hutchinson; daughter-in-law Melanie Denio, of Oakley; four granddaughters; five grandsons; six nieces; four nephews; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Caliya Sue McGovern, of Salina, passed away shortly after birth in the comfort of her mother’s arms Sunday, June 12, 2016.
Heaven’s gain was our loss when our angel was called by our Lord. Caliya came into this world too soon and was taken too soon.
Caliya was the daughter of Carissa and William McGovern, of Salina. She is survived by a half sister, Ashley McGovern, of Wichita; her maternal grandparents, Merl and Coleen (Bezdek) Everhart, of Salina; paternal grandmother, Donna McGovern, of Salina and maternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Johnson, of Salina.
She was preceded in death by her grandpas, Charles Bezdek and William McGovern.
A private family service will be held Thursday, June 16, at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, with Pastor Ed Mathis presiding.

Steven “Steve” Britt, 58 of Solomon passed away Monday, June 13, 2016 at Salina Regional Hospital. He was born August 2, 1957 in Salina, the son of Duane and Evelyn (Able) Britt. He attended the Abilene and Solomon school districts and graduated from Solomon in 1976. Steve was a former police officer for Abilene, Solomon and McPherson, the former sheriff and deputy sheriff in Dickinson County and was employed by Solomon Corporation, Abilene Machine and most recently, by Ka-Comm Inc. He served on the Solomon City Council for 8 years, Mayor of Solomon for 8 years, instructor and area coordinator of Kansas Hunters Education for 30 plus years, member of the Solomon Fire Department for 23 years, 911 advisory board for 15 plus years and president and vice president of the Solomon High School Alumni Association for 10 years. His hobbies included ATV’s, hunting, fishing, firearms collecting, gardening and yard work.
Steve is survived by his loving wife Tana Bosworth; two sons, Travis Britt and wife Lisa, Troy Britt and wife Chelcie. Parents; Duane and Evelyn Britt. Two brothers; Gary Britt and Dan Britt and Carolyn. Step-daughter, Amber. Grandson; Owen Ray. Step-granddaughter; Alisha. Niece Sara and nephews Matt and Brian Britt and Taylor.
Funeral Services for Steve will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Emmanuel Church in Abilene with Pastor Stan Norman officiating. Daryl Burton Cox, 86, Clifton, died June 13, 2016 in Lenexa, Ks. following a brief and courageous battle with lymphoma. Daryl was born on March 16, 1930 to George and Emilie Cox in Clifton, Kansas. Except for his years in the Navy, Daryl spent his entire life in Clifton. He is preceded in death by his parents and by an infant daughter, Karin Leann.
Daryl is survived by his four children: Kirk Cox, Clifton, Mark (Cheryl) Cox of Santa Cruz, California, Cheryl (Jay) Hotchkiss of St. Louis, Missouri, and Amy (Shaun) Moore of Shawnee, Kansas. He was a beloved “Papa” to nine grandchildren: Kristen Cox, Kevin and Shawn Cox, Jannah, Erin, Grace, and Sam Hotchkiss, and Landon and Jensen Moore. He is also survived by the mother of his children and loving friend, Barbara Cox. Daryl’s siblings all survive and include Donnis Knoettgen and Francis (Doreen) Cox of Clifton and Darlene Swartz of Blue Springs, Missouri as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Daryl graduated from Clifton High School in 1948 and proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War from 1951-1955. He was in the R Division aboard the U.S.S. Rochester where he was a First Class pipefitter and welder.
Daryl began working alongside his father at a young age, learning important life lessons and worked with his father and brother in the family water well drilling business. Daryl was a friend to everyone. He enjoyed meeting people and documenting life through writing letters and taking pictures. He was an avid gardener and spent many hours canning with one of his greatest pleasures being sharing his fruits and vegetables with others. He also stayed in touch with many of his navy friends over the years and enjoyed contact with those special friends. Daryl documented his life’s experiences through his writing.
Daryl held many leadership positions including former president of the Kansas Water Well Driller’s Association, A lifetime member of the Clifton American Legion and the Clyde VFW as well as a former commander of the Clifton American Legion Post 227. He was a member of the Clifton school board for many years as well as a member of the Clifton Historical Society.
Daryl chose cremation. Visitation will be Monday, June 20th from 9:00-10:30 followed by a memorial service at Faith United Church Presbyterian, Clifton with Jay Hotchkiss presiding.
A graveside military service and urn burial will follow at Clifton I.O.O.F. cemetery.
The family requests donations be made to the Clifton American Legion Post 227 or the Clifton Historical Society.

Vincent Wayne Dohe, 64, passed away June 14, 2016 at his home in Lincoln County. He was born March 20, 1952 in Ellsworth to Benjamin Walter and Dorothea Emma (Wacker) Dohe.
Wayne married Dorene Gier in Sylvan Grove on April 20, 1975. He was a farmer and stockman and a clerk on the Golden Belt Township Board. He was also a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ellsworth.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Dorene Dohe of Lincoln; daughter, Kris Stoecker (Perry) of Onaka, SD; son, Kurt Dohe (Ann Kralik) of Lincoln; daughter, Kayla Vague (Evan) of Ellsworth; grandchildren, Chloe Dohe, Ben and Kelli Stoecker, Valen, Clayton, Kieran, and Easton Vague, and Molly and Macy Howard; brother, Larry Dohe (Sharon) of Lincoln; and sister, Karen Dohe of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brothers, Dale and Dean Dohe; step-father, Erwin Burmeister; and niece, April Shoemaker.

Mary Lee Bates, 90, went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2016. She had been a resident of Sterling since 2008, formerly of Topeka, KS and Largo, FL. She was born September 9, 1925, at Los Angeles, CA to Levi and Lillian Nelson Samuelson. She had one sister, Corrine Samuelson who still resides in Sterling. Mary Lee moved to Topeka from California with her mother at age 14 and finished her education at Topeka High School.
On May 12, 1945 she married Walter Rhymes Bates. Together they ran Bates Furniture in Topeka for more than 30 years. Walter died in 1993 at Largo, FL. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Kay in 1990. Survivors include daughter Carol Ann Bates Ludwick, Sterling and a son Charles Bates, Clearwater, FL. She also has 4 grandchildren, Aaron & Andy Ludwick, Jeff Temmen and Angela Bates along with seven great-grandchildren.
Mary was very active in her church life as a Sunday school teacher and a leader in the AWANA program. She enjoyed her church family and volunteered her time at Christian radio stations and other organizations. She was always ready to share her love for the Lord. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Lyons and Sterling Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M. on June 22, 2016 at Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling, with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Theo Barr passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the Sheridan County Health Complex in Hoxie, Kansas at the age of 94. She was born in Sheridan County on May 7, 1922 to the late M. Jay and Carrie (Mowry) Barr. She graduated from Sheridan County High School with the Class of 1940. Shortly thereafter, she began working as a clerk and bookkeeper for Mickey Hardware and Furniture maintaining that steady career, for many years, until her eventual retirement. During her lifetime she lived on four different farms just east of Hoxie until the autumn of 2014, when she entered the long-term care facility.
Theo never married, but lived life to the fullest every day with all of her family, friends, and neighbors, with whom she never missed an opportunity to love and laugh. She was a devout lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Hoxie where she had a perfect attendance record for most years. She taught Sunday School, was a Methodist Youth Fellowship Sponsor, a member of United Methodist Women, and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed farm-life, nurturing a variety of fowl, horses, dogs and cats as well as enjoying bird watching, sports, embroidery, gardening, puzzles, bowling and reading.
Our beloved “Aunt Theo” is survived by one niece Carolyn Bell of Quinter; six nephews James J. White and wife Reba of Hoxie, Charles White and wife Jan of Wamego, Albert Lee Barr and wife Carol of Spring, TX, Jack Rowlison and wife Marilyn of Morland, Don Rowlison and wife Melanie of Studley, and Richard Barr and wife Paula of Lawrence; many great-nephews and nieces and their families; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jay and Carrie Barr; brothers Albert Barr and wife Vera, and Gilbert Barr; sisters Zola White and husband Jim, and Elda Rowlison and husband Johnny ; nieces Marilyn Barr, Betty (White) Corke, Marita (Barr) Jackson, and Charlotte (White) McMillen; and great-nephews Brian White and Jeremy Jackson.
