Wanda Ruth Leonhart, 82, of Salina, Kansas, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 14th, at Salina Regional Health Center, Kansas.
Wanda was born in Abilene, Kansas on March 9, 1934, a daughter of the late Marietta (Kauffman) and Lawrence Roof.
She was a devoted listener of the First United Methodist Church radio ministry.
In 1955, Wanda married Wilbur Lee Leonhart who preceded in death December 1987.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Lepping, and husband Bob, of Salina, Kansas;
son, Jerry Leonhart, and wife Ginny, of Lawton, Oklahoma; step daughter, Loretta Childers, of Olathe, Kansas; sisters, Phyllis, Holmberg, of California, and Patty Adam, of Abilene, Kansas; brother, Eugene Wilson, and his wife Chris, of Newton, Kansas; as well as grandchildren, Toby (Heavenly) McQuillan, Billy (Jeni) McQuillan, Michelle Swolensky, Travis (Amanda) Swolensky, Bruce (Tela) Leonhart, Robert Lepping, Jr., Sarah Childers, Chris (Leah) Childers, and Jackie Coffelt; 24 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur; daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Jerry Griggs; step son, Joe Leonhart; brother, Wayne Roof; and sister, Mary Lou Roof.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 16, from 9:00 am – 8:00 pm at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home with family present from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
Funeral service will be held at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, Salina, Kansas, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 17th, with Doug Birdsong officiating.
Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Greenwood Union Cemetery, Hunter, Kansas.

Marshall Barnes, 81, of Salina, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016. He was born October 1, 1934, in Munday, Texas, to Herbert and Christine (Clowdis) Barnes.
He married Glenna Dillard on June 6, 1954.
He is survived by his wife, Glenna; children, Terri Ellis, Stephen Barnes and wife Tara, Britt Barnes and Shelley Hanson and husband, Rick; sister, Sue Martin and husband Tim; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, John Britton Barnes.
Cremation was chosen. His life will be celebrated at a memorial service 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2016, at First Southern Baptist Church, 2401 S. Ohio, Salina. The family will greet visitors at the church from 9:15-9:50 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sunflower Adult Day Care or the Building Fund, First Southern Baptist Church.

Arthur Tennant Jones, 92, of Salina, passed away June 9, 2016. He was born January 2, 1924 in Ashley, PA to Arthur Hugh and Martha Jane Tennant Jones, the second of two children. When he was 4, his family moved to Chicago, IL. He committed his life to Christ when he was 13. He prioritized his faith and his family above all else.
Art served as a machine gunner in WWII with A Co, 175th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division. He was wounded in the battle of St. Lo, France in July 1944. He was awarded both the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service during the war.
Following the war, Art earned a BS in Accountancy and a MA in Economics from the University of Illinois. He married Frances Nell Guenther in N. Little Rock, AR on January 12, 1952. He worked as a CPA for Price Waterhouse, and Coopers and Lybrand in Chicago; served as Controller for Western Publishing Company in Poughkeepsie, NY; and, as Vice President for American Printers and Lithographers in Niles, IL. He served as a teacher, elder and treasurer in two churches. After retiring, he and Frances enjoyed volunteering with the Lawndale Christian Health Center and other various ministries, and traveling to visit children and grandchildren.
In the fall of 2008, Art and Frances moved to Salina, KS.
Art is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marion Olson; and, granddaughter, Lauren Jones. Survivors include his wife, Frances; daughter, Susan (Larry) Kejr of Salina; son, Art (Linda) of Chicago, IL; son, Bill (Laurie) of Woodland Park, CO; son, Larry (Jill) of Madison, WI; twelve grandchildren; and, thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on June 18 at First Covenant Church in the Family Life Center. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be given to Woodland Bible Chapel, P.O. Box 950, Florissant, CO 80816.

Gary L. Cornelius, 57, of Salina, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016. He was born March 26, 1959, in Kansas City, Kan., to John and Claudette (Trassis) Cornelius.
Gary attended Couch High School in Myrtle Beach, Mo. He was a chaplain assistant in the United States military from 1980-81. He married Karen Rizek on July 12, 2008, in Belleville.
Left to mourn are his wife, Karen, of the home; mother, Claudette Cornelius, and brother Steven Herron, both of Kansas City, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his father, John.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 16, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.

Jane Lucille (Michel) Monk, 77, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at her son’s home in Lansing, Kansas with her family by her side.
Jane was born November 4, 1938 in Russell, Kansas. She was one of six children born to John and Hilda (Rein) Michel. She grew up in Downs, Kansas and graduated from Downs High School. She then attended a year at Ft. Hays State University. After college she worked in the NCO Club of Schelling AFB.
Jane was an Accountant most of her life. She worked for over 30 years with Sunshine Biscuit later known as Kellogg’s. She worked for them in Salina, Kansas, then Wichita, Kansas, and then in 1970 she moved to Kansas City. Later she worked part time as an accountant for Mid State Aero Space Company and Prairie Life Health club. She was a member of the Overland Park Baptist Temple. She enjoyed long distance running and being a season ticket holder of the Kansas City Chiefs. But she lived for her time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving family include her two sons, Mike Monk (Tammy) of Bennington, Kansas and Richard Monk (Tina) of Lansing, Kansas; three brothers, Lawrence Michel and Bob Michel both of Downs, Kansas and Jerry Michel of Stamford, Nebraska; two sisters, Betty Wolters of Portis, Kansas and Sara Whitten of Salina, Kansas; four grandchildren, Kasi Lane Morales (Adrian), James Kale Monk (Allie), Jessica Lee Monk (Brad) and Brandon Lee Monk; and four great grandchildren, Elias Colt Morales, Ezequiel Cruz Morales, Julianna Lynn Mock and Penelope Mae Mock. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Celebration of Jane’s Life will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 17, 2016 at the Russell City Cemetery in Russell, Kansas. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
