77, passed away Tuesday, June 21st, in Enterprise. She was born February 3, 1939 in Concordia, the daughter of Joseph E. and Melba C. (Tucker) Dodson. Growing up in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, Melba attended local schools and graduated from Topeka High School in 1958. On February 14, 1959, she was married to Ralph J. Dodds. The early years of their marriage were spent in Topeka until moving to Enterprise in 1970. Melba was employed by various nursing homes as a food service supervisor. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, garage sales and cooking. Melba was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Nancy Kmak; a son, Kirk Dodds and a sister Patricia Pitts.
She is survived by: her husband, Ralph Dodds of Enterprise; four sisters; Sandra R. Baer of Paxico, Janice K, Roberts of Topeka, Marsha J. Green of Wichita, Dianne R. Dahl of Ft Charlotte, Florida and three grandchildren.
The family has chosen cremation. A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 29th, at the Enterprise United Methodist Church with Pastor Roger Walls officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
The family suggest memorial contributions in her name be made to the Melba Dodds Memorial Fund. They may be left at the church the day of the service or left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas 67410.

Phyllis K. Darrah.jpegPhyllis Kathleen Darrah, 101 & 1/2, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 4:10 a.m., Thursday, June 23rd, 2016 peacefully, at Heartland Haven, rural, Inman, Kansas.

Phyllis was born in Waverly, Kansas on November 30, 1914, a daughter of Snowy Jane (Nutt) and Roy Baccus Sickler.

Phyllis attended the Waverly grade schools, and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas in 1932. She then attended Nurse’s Training in McPherson.

She was a faithful Christian since the age of 17 and a member of Waverly and McPherson Church of Christ McPherson, Kansas.

Phyllis was a Homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family and friends in this manner.

Phyllis was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s, Tops, and a couple quilting groups. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, bowling, sewing, bred and showed Persian Cats and loved spending time with her family. When her husband was in the military, she made Angel Food Cakes from scratch, rented out a room for rent in the basement, helped out at the hospital, raising canaries and Angora Rabbits, sold savings bonds and anything else she could to help with the war effort and her family.

Phyllis Kathleen Sickler was united in marriage to James Chadwick Darrah on July 7, 1934 at McPherson, Kansas. He died on March 7, 1969. Phyllis Kathleen Darrah was united in marriage to George Oldenstadt on June 27, 1982 at McPherson, Kansas. He died on September 5, 1996..

She is survived by her children, Janelle Goering and her husband David, of Towanda, Kansas, James L. Darrah, of Overland Park, Kansas, Philip C. Darrah and his wife Kathleen, of McPherson, Kansas; and Kathleen Swanson and her husband Rodger, of McPherson, Kansas; her step-daughter, Suzanne Oldenstadt, of Wichita, Kansas; 13 – grandchildren – Michael Goering and wife Carolyn, Marc Goering and wife Norma, Melinda Wagner and husband Mark, Steven Darrah, Julie Darrah, Chad Darrah and wife Dana, Nicholas Darrah, Rebekah Darrah, Sara Matlock and husband Andy, Dara Sutton and husband Ash, Jamie McAnulty & husband Scott, Georgia Bryant and husband Josh, and Julia Ormond and husband Keenan; 24 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Chad Darrah and George Oldenstadt; brother, Duane Sickler, sister, Wilma E. Smith, and step-son, Paul Oldenstadt.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 3 to 7 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Glidden – Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas.

Funeral service will be held at the McPherson Church of Christ, McPherson, Kansas, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 30th, 2016 with Minister Gary Witcher officiating.

The final resting place will be at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McPherson Church of Christ and they can be sent in care of the Glidden – Ediger Funeral Home; 222 West Euclid Street; McPherson, Kansas 67460.

Hillsboro – LeRoy Berg, 76, died June 23, 2016 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.  He was born February 27, 1940 to Peter and Audrey (Heal) Berg in Hillsboro.  Survivors include: sister, Janice (Charles) Crocker of Indianola, Iowa; Special Friend, Carolyn (Harvey) Ray of Hillsboro.  Celebration of Life Service 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2016 at The Hillsboro American Legion Officiated by Pastor Morita Truman.  Interment 3:00 p.m. Monday at Highland Cemetery of Minneapolis, Kansas.    Memorials to Hillsboro American Legion Post 366 in care of Jost Funeral Home P.O. Wayne Francis Dolezal, 88, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.

Surviving family include two daughters, Linda Keller and Laura Huser (Troy) all of Manhattan, Kansas; son, John Dolezal (Jeri) of Phoenix, Arizona; brother, Donald Dolezal of Great Bend, Kansas; sisters, Marjorie Leath of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Shirley Gearheart of Stratford, Oklahoma and Irene Chisom of Long Island, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Alan Dolezal; Brother, John Dolezal; and sister Lenora Staab.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation has preceded the services.
