Roberta Sue Huseman, 62, of Salina, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, June 27, 2016.
Roberta’s life was defined by her passion for prayer, devotion to her family, her generous heart and her desire for others to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. She was an active and involved member of First Covenant Church in Salina, serving on building committees, teaching Vacation Bible school and leading countless prayer meetings. One of Roberta’s great passions was Salina’s National Day of Prayer breakfast, which she chaired for more than 10 years. She loved when churches joined together to pray for the city. She was also a speaker for Christian Women’s Club, traveling all over the state of Kansas, sharing her testimony several times a year.
Another one of Roberta’s great passions was her family. She was blessed to have very close relationships with all of her family members. Her sisters, Becky Jones and Shelly Farha, remained her closest friends throughout her life. As a mother, she was kind and caring. Thousands of miles were put on the car as she traveled to hundreds of sporting events to support her children, John, Matt and Katie, rarely ever missing a single game. And when grandchildren came, she loved spoiling them, filling their bellies with candy and finishing crossword puzzles together. She was always generous with her love and kindness.
Roberta is survived by: her parents, John (Marla) Heinen, of Denton, Texas, and Rose Heinen of Concordia; sisters, Becky Jones, of Salina, and Shelly (Danny) Farha of Concordia; children, John (Lindsay) Huseman, of Conroe, Texas, Matt (Jordan) Huseman, of Phoenix, and Katie (Tom) Petric, of Chicago; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jonathan, Naomi, Nicole and Samuel Huseman, whom she truly adored.
The family is very thankful for all of the special people that gave love and care to Roberta, especially Marci Garcia, Carmen Carney and the wonderful caregivers at Comfort Keepers.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 30, at First Covenant Church, Salina.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Covenant Church and left in care of Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
