Dorothy Veronica Bonham, 93, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016. She was born in Manhattan to Richard and Luise (Monk) Martin.
Dorothy was an avid gardener and bowler, involved in her church, loyal friend, and a devoted mother, raising eight children.
Dorothy is survived by: her children, Teresa Forbes, of Texas, Cecilia (Gary) Aslin of Ft. Worth, Jerome Bonham of Fairfield, Iowa, Camilla (Brent) Hamilton of Shawnee, Cynthia Bonham of Salina, Daniel Bonham of Salina, and David Bonham of Olathe; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Delmar Bonham, and son Kenneth Lynn Bonham.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 1, at Sacred Heart Cathedral. A vigil service will follow starting at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday July 2, at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Bonnie Jo Nelson, 51, of Salina, died Saturday, June 25, 2016. She was born Nov. 13, 1964, the daughter of Dewitt and Patricia (Crist) Bland, in Salina.
Survivors: daughters, Barbara Kohart and husband Thomas, of Salina, Jessica Miller, of Jacksonville, Ark., and Patricia White, of California; son, Charles Miller, of Salina; sister, Ramona Kay Bullard and husband William, of Lakewood, Colo.; brother, Donald Bland, of Denver; and 14 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, James and Harold Bland.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 2, in Hall Cemetery north of Minneapolis. Memorials may be made to Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina, to help defer funeral expenses.

Bonnie Fay Zaragoza, 51, of Salina, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016. She was born in Fort Lewis, Wash., to Taft Clifton Yates Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (James) Yates on Jan. 7, 1965.
She attended Salina South High School and worked in the housekeeping department at Salina Regional Health Center. She married Nick Zaragoza on Aug. 7, 1999, in Salina.
Survivors include her husband, Nick, and children, Victoria Fernandez and Tom Fernandez, all of Salina; father; stepchildren, Rachel Zaragoza, of Wichita, Nick Zaragoza Jr., Jose Zaragoza and Daniel (Erin) Zaragoza, all of California, and Derek (Stacie) Zaragoza, of Wichita; siblings, Taft and Barb Yates Jr., Ann and Roger Kugler, Bobby and Sherri Yates, Gary and Angie Yates, Stephen Yates, Betty and Doug Meade, Kathy Yates and Amy Harmon; and 14 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and sister, Marie Gardenhire.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 2, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.

ASSARIA — Lori Jon Heimer, 57, of Assaria, Kansas, passed away at her residence on Saturday, June 25, 2016. Lori was born Aug. 1, 1958 in Loma Linda, California, to Carmen Ingrassia and Lois Jones. Lori married Ronald Heimer on June 2, 1984, in Salina, Kansas.
Lori worked as a child care specialist for many years and bred poodles for the last 16 years. Lori’s hobbies included baking and decorating cakes, playing cards, riding her four-wheeler and teaching her dogs tricks.
Lori is survived by her husband, Ronald Heimer, of Assaria, Kansas; daughters, Genell Heimer, Joni Alexander and husband Jonathon Alexander, Lynnsey Heimer and fiancé Justin Ade, and Katie Eberle and husband Austin Eberle; grandchildren, Ryla Alexander, Dierkson Alexander, Maisa Alexander and Alida Alexander; parents, Carmen Ingrassia and Lois Jones; sister, Cheli Johnson (Matt); brother, Kelly Ingrassia (Kathy); and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Lori was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Mary Jones, and a nephew, Jordan Heimer.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 1, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, where the family will receive friends from 6-8.
Celebration of Life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2, at Grace Baptist Temple, 400 E. Crawford, Salina. Burial will follow in Assaria Lutheran Cemetery, Assaria, with a lunch at Assaria Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Lori Heimer’s Memorial Puppy Fund at First Bank Kansas or to the Assaria Children’s Park, in care of Ryan Mortuary, Salina.

LYONS — Shirley J. White, 92, of Lyons, formerly of Geneseo, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016. She was born in Christchurch, New Zealand Feb. 8, 1924 to Herbert and Ruby Hill.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church since 1959.
Survivors include her children, Ian and Kathy White, Peter and Martha White, and Eric and Amelia White; son-in-law, Jim Gray; ten grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband ,James; parents; daughter, Robyn Gray; and siblings, Florie, Ian, Laurene, and Ronnie.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Ryan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Violet Louise Jamison Riffe passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Wellington Health and Rehab in Wellington, Kansas at the age of 92. She was born on July 7, 1923 in Los Angeles, California to the late Ruth (Betts) Ellis. Violet graduated from Webster High School with the Class of 1941 and went on to receive her teaching certificate at Fort Hays State College. She taught in rural schools in Rooks County, Kansas all the while continuing her education and receiving her BA. After that, she taught third grade for many years at Stockton Grade School in Stockton, Kansas.
On September 12, 1979 Violet was united in marriage to Elton Riffe in Golden, Colorado. They enjoyed many bus trips together before Elton passed away in 1997. Having a heart for serving others, she not only spent a lot of time volunteering, she even helped her mother milk cows on the farm after her step-father passed away. She worked many years at the Methodist Thrift Shop and Museum, and made sandwiches for the blood drives. She was a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary, Red Hat Society, Eastern Star, Odd Fellows, Century Club, and Business Professional Women. In her younger years she was very active in 4-H.
Violet is survived by her brother Richard Ellis and wife Carolyn of Mayfield; step-son Kenneth Riffe of Stockton; step-daughter Georgia Larson of Winfield; brother-in-law, Darrel Buss and wife Pat of Littleton, CO; nephews Travis Ellis and wife Desty of Springdale, AR, Bradley Buss of Lakewood, CO, and Jason Ellis and wife Carrie of Manhattan; and great-nieces and nephews, Kailyn Ellis, MaKensie Ellis, Rylie Ellis, Will Addair, and Andrew Kent.
She is preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Ruth Ellis; husband Elton Riffe; and sister Barbara Buss.
Violet was a hardworking woman who showed her love by taking care of the people she loved the most, her family, friends, and neighbors, especially children. Never knowing a stranger, if you were blessed to know her, she considered it a blessing to know you. The world is a better place, and countless lives are better off, because she loved us, and will be loved and remembered by us forever.
