Barbara Jo Staley was born on October 30, 1950 in Beloit, Kansas, the daughter of Eldon and Dorothy Cambridge Behymer. She died Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit at the age of 67 years, 5 months, and 6 days.
Barb grew up in Cawker City, and later spent most of her life in Beloit.
On July 1, 1966, she was united in marriage with Calvin Staley at the First Christian Church in Beloit. Five children were born to union, Calvin E. Staley, Jr., Peggy, Yvonne, Patricia, and Gregory. They were privileged to spend 36 years of marriage together until his death in July, 2002.
Barb worked for many years at the Dairy Queen in Beloit and served as the manager until her health would not allow her to work.
She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild. She also loved the outdoors and fishing, as well as cooking for friends and family in the kitchen. And she always enjoyed listening to Elvis music.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and several sisters.
Barb is survived by her children, Calvin E. “JR” Staley and wife Billie, Peggy and husband Quenton Grant, Yvonne and husband Kevin Williamson, Patricia and husband Gary Doyle, and Gregory Staley; brother Eldon Behymer; 10 grandchildren, Sasha, Sierra, CJ, Taten, Leann and her son Ivan, Jessica, Matthew, Shandi, Trevor, and Preston; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, April 12 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place & there will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the Funeral Expense Fund.
