Cheryl Lynn Umphrey, 64, of Salina, was born June 11, 1950, in Kansas City, Mo., and died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at Good Shepherd Hospice House, Manhattan.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Renich; her parents, William R. “Cork” and Ella Umphrey, of Salina; brother, Ray Umphrey and wife Linda, of Lenexa; sister, Elizabeth Jankord and husband Steve, of Manhattan; sister-in-law, Rebekah Lynch, of Fort Collins, Colo.; brother-in-law, Tom Renich and wife Janet, of Shawnee; and her nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, near Culver. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Belmont Boulevard Christian Church, Salina, with the Rev. Tara Thompson officiating. Following the service, there will be a visitation in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers or memorials, an unplanned gesture of kindness is suggested.
