Dorothy E. Muller, 90, Minneapolis, died Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Ottawa County Health Center. She was born April 11, 1926 near Falun to Peter and Edith (Swanstrom) Peterson.
Dorothy was united in marriage with Victor R. Muller on June 22, 1947 in Lindsborg. She worked as a secretary for many years for the Soil Conservation office.
Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a former Rock City Board member.
She was preceded in death by her husband Victor on August 22, 2008; and siblings Woodrow, Donald, and Warren Peterson.
Survivors include her son Paul Muller; daughters Gail Flint and Jean Welch; sisters-in-law Joyce Peterson and Donna Dietz; three grandchildren; one step-grandchild; three great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Wilson Family Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5-6. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.

William Amos “Bill” Dotterer, 82, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016.
Bill was born in Kiowa, Kansas on September 24, 1933, to the late Alta (Beadman) and Charles Dotterer.
Bill was a graduate of Kiowa High School. He served his country in the United States Army, and was a farmer for most of his working life.
Bill is survived by his daughter and caregiver, Cindy Dotterer, and his grandson; Michael Dotterer, his wife Gypsy, and their four children all of Lincoln, Kansas. They have been by his side over the past 10 years, through his long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Other survivors include; Debra McReynolds, Charlene Johnson, Sue McKinney, Carol Hardy, Stacy Dotterer; Sheila White, Marsha Belt, Bill Nash, over 30 grandchildren, and many great and great great grandchildren.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; step son, Richard Nash; step daughter, Yvonne Longpine; brother Robert Dotterer; and sisters, Betty Cellars and Donna Mae Reiger.
Graveside services will be held at the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.

Lou Ann Karl, 61, of Detroit, died Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Abilene. She was born January 26, 1955, in Abilene, KS, the daughter of Wayne and Edna (Clapp) Whitehair.
On January 30, 1976, she was united in marriage to Larry George Karl. Lou Ann graduated from Abilene High School in 1973 and attended Fort Hays State University. For 23 years she was employed by Farmers National Bank/ UMB as a loan officer and has been the Housing Director at Chapman Housing Authority for the past 19 years.
Lou Ann is survived by her loving husband, Larry Karl, of Detroit; one son Evan Karl and fiance’ Nicole Petersen; one daughter Rachelle Sims and husband Kyle; mother Edna M. Whitehair; three sisters Lynne Murphy and husband Kevin, Leah Hern and husband Randy, Lennis Hasenbank and husband Randy; two brothers Tom Whitehair and wife Janet, Dan Whitehair and wife DeLynne; two sisters-in-law Jacque Karl and Sandy Dethlefs and husband Dan and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Wayne Whitehair, brother-in-law Steve Karl and nephew Jesse Karl.
Lou Ann was 4-H leader and treasurer for Relay for Life.
Funeral services for Lou Ann will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the Enterprise United Methodist Church in Enterprise with Pastor Roger Walls officiating. Council Grove – Harold Peter “Pete” DeHoff, Jr. was born March 16, 1932 and departed this life on Friday July 22, 2016, at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis in Wichita.
Pete was born in Council Grove, Kansas to Harold Peter and Mary Louise McCardel DeHoff. He graduated from Council Grove High School in 1950 and joined the United States Army in November 1954. He was a Korean War Time Veteran and proud to serve his county. His entire life he has been an avid sports enthusiast. He was passionate about being an outdoors man, where he loved to fish and hunt, play golf, competitive trap shooting, especially with his daughters, and in later year’s wood carving. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Time spent with family was so precious to him.
For 54 years his career path has been in the telecommunications industry.
In April of 1970, Pete brought his family back to Council Grove, KS, where he bought a small farm SE of town. He loved working the land at night after spending a full day at Monarch Molding, as their new Vice President.
In December 1983, Pete married Ellen J. Adams. Together they blended their families and established their home in Council Grove. In 1988, Pete & Ellen bought Monarch Molding, Inc., where Pete continued in full time employment, until he retired in 2008.
He has been a lifelong member of: National Rifle Association and a recipient of the National Patriot’s Medal; Shriners and was certified as a contributor to the 100 Million Dollar Club in support of the work of the world’s greatest philanthropy.
Pete served 50 years as a Member of the Brotherhood of the M. W. Grand Lodge A.F. and A.M. of Kansas; he had the honor of serving as Grand Master of Masons with the Council Grove Lodge No. 36.
He served for many years on the local Ducks Unlimited chapter in Council Grove, and the Greater Morris County Development Corporation. Pete also served as the President of the Council Grove Chamber of Commerce. In his retirement years, he joined as a lifelong member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association of America.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Louise DeHoff, and his son, Roy Daniel DeHoff in 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen J. DeHoff, of the home; daughters: Stephanie Jane DeHoff and fiancée’ Mark Sanders, of Junction City, KS, Lisa DeHoff-Thompson and husband Larry of Wichita, KS, Cathy McCaleb and fiancée’ Darrell Francis, of Wichita, KS, Stephanie Diehl and husband Mark, of Junction City, KS, Christy Jimerson and husband Deryl, of Council Grove, KS; and son, Kenny Adams and wife Linda, of Sarasota, FL; sisters, Betty Peebles and husband Don, of Orville, CA, Nora Bumstead and husband Keith, of Boise, ID, and Mary Jane Durst, of Wildwood, FL. Also surviving are his 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial services will be held Thursday July 28th at 11 a.m., at the First Congregational Church. Private family inurnment will be in Sunny Slope Cemetery.

Margery Emma (Roll) Urban was born on April 26, 1930. She was the oldest daughter of Albert and Alice (Bullimore) Roll. She always felt blessed to have received her middle name from three ancestors; Emma (Bennett) Bullimore, mother of Thomas Bullimore; Emma (Bullimore) Dunavan, sister of Alice Roll; and Emma (Roll) Achenbach, sister of Albert Roll. Margery was born on the same farm on which her father was born and her grandfather homesteaded in Grant Township in Clay County, Kansas.
Margery attended two, one-room schools and graduated from CCCHS in 1948. In the fall of 1948, she entered Bethany Hospital School of Nursing in Kansas City, Kansas and began her lifelong career as a nurse. She graduated from Bethany in 1951 and worked at Clay County Hospital for 35 years, retiring in 1992.
Margery had a great love of flowers and spent hours working in her flower beds. She loved to ride horse back and was often seen riding her beloved bay mare, Lynda, along their country roads.
Margery married Clarence Urban in 1954. They had one son, Casey Urban, who survives with his wife, Janice, and two grandsons, Colby and wife Cory, and Jacob and wife Sierra. She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Alice Roll, and two sisters, Betty Elaine Copeland and Helen Marie Hileman. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins to mourn her passing. Mary Alice (Southard) Ceridon passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016 at the home she shared with her daughter, Maile Lani Richert, and family in Swansboro, North Carolina at the age of 71. Mary Alice was born on June 9, 1945 in Stockton, Kansas to the late Sumner and Pauline Southard. She grew up in Stockton where she attended primary school and graduated from Stockton High School with the Class of 1963. After high school she pursued and received a degree in Interior Decorating from Kansas State University.
Mary Alice has lived in Oklahoma, Colorado, Texas, Massachusetts, and most recently, North Carolina, but she has always called Kansas her home. Thanks to her many years working for Continental Airlines, Mary Alice was able to pursue her love of traveling. She has visited countless destinations throughout the world.
Mary Alice is survived by her favorite travel companions, her three children and three grandchildren. Her eldest son, Samuel Juan William Ceridon, lives in Sacramento, California with his wife Alexis Ceridon, their two sons Kellan Kekoa Ceridon and Dylan Makaio Ceridon and his step-son Noah William Hightower. Her eldest daughter, Kimi Malia Ceridon lives in Medford, Massachusetts with her husband Oivind Brockmeier and playful dog Jethro. Her youngest daughter, Maile Lani Richert lives in Swansboro, North Carolina with her husband Trevor Richert, their son Evan Keali’i Richert and two dogs Lulu and Chili. She is also survived by her aunt, Laura McGowan of Salina, Kansas and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and older sister, Anita Kay Southard.

Beulah Waters passed from this life on July 24, 2016 at home on the farm in rural Rooks County, Kansas. She lost her bout with cancer at the age of 96. She was born on February 7, 1920 the second of four daughters, to Charles and Eunice (Selbe) McCormick. Born and raised on the farm southwest of Webster, Kansas she attended school in Webster and graduated with the Class of 1938.
After high school, Beulah acquired her Teaching Certificate and began teaching school at the Country School in the Alcona Township of Rooks County. On April 30, 1939 she was united in marriage to Vernon Waters at the Osborne County Court House in Osborne, Kansas. To this union were born two sons, Gerald and Rick; and three daughters, Sharon, Karen, and Dianne.
Early in their marriage, Beulah and Vernon ran the filling station just a mile west of Stockton, Kansas. After the beginning of World War II, they moved to Wichita, Kansas where Vernon began working for Boeing building gliders. They moved back to Rooks County in 1944 and eventually made their home northwest of Stockton where they raised their family. Later, when Vernon’s health began to decline they moved to Stockton for health reasons. He passed away in 1979, just short of their 41st wedding anniversary.
Beulah was always an active part of operating and working on the farm, even after moving to town. She also took on a newspaper route, and began working in the area nursing homes. After retiring she worked several years in home health care for many people. In addition, she worked as a cook for a couple of different places, and sewed and patched clothing for people when needed. She was well known for her fried chicken and homemade bread, and took up quilting, making numerous quilts for family and loved ones. She had a poodle named Snappy who was a large part of her life for 19 years, but most especially found pleasure being around her grandchildren when they came to visit. As her own health declined, she moved back to the farm to live out her days with her son Rick and his family.
Beulah is survived by her son Rick Waters and wife Linda of Stockton; daughters Sharon Atherton and husband Alvin of Stockton, Karen Odle and husband Bobby of Stockton, and Dianne Becker and husband Gail of Plainville; sister Ruth Miller of Stockton; grandchildren Lorri and Mick Smyth, Ryan and Danielle Becker, Rod and Martha Becker, Rance Becker, Tina Coast, Shawn and Jenn Coast, Vernon Waters, Darrin and Trinity Atherton, Teresa and Bob Glendening, Dustin and Sharra Odle, and Rustin and Holly Odle; great-grandchildren Caxton, Braxton, Traxton, Reece, Braylon, Brianna, Lanie, Lia, Bella, Jace, Joseph, Klayton, Ethan, Gabriel, Jordan, Jeremy, Karsen, Sidney, Michaela, Dakota, and Brenna; and 5 great-great-garandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents Charles and Eunice McCormick, husband Vernon Waters, infant son Gerald, and sisters Mabel Lowry and Neva Holcomb.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home in Stockton. Burial will follow at the Stockton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 pm.
